A leading automobile brand wanted to transform passive spectators into active creators - an AI platform where anyone could design a car skin, put it to a community vote, and win the chance to see their creation on a real vehicle.
Over 3 months, we built a web-based AI platform with a prompt-based texture generation tool, community voting, and infrastructure that handled 10,000 simultaneous users. The winning design is manufactured onto an actual car - turning creative participation into real-world impact for the brand's North American anniversary campaign.
The main objective was to develop a platform where creativity turns to active participation, increases brand loyalty, and fills the top of the funnel through brand awareness - with a UI fluid enough for users on any bandwidth.
The platform needed to handle 10,000 simultaneous users, host 50,000 monthly - ultimately scaling to one million requests per month at campaign peak, handled smoothly by a purpose-built scalable infrastructure.

An integrated AI Studio encourages users to create stunning car designs. It includes functionalities such as a tutorial video, an AI prompt space, a design editor, etc. Users can view their sketches in 3D to enable them to visualize their creations from every angle.
The platform includes a secure voting system that allows logged-in users (judges) to cast their votes on their favorite designs. This system ensures fair and transparent voting to encourage community participation. The voting system creates a sense of ownership and excitement among users.
To enhance user experience, an integrated chatbot assists users with platform functionalities and inquiries. Real-time support helps users to participate in the design process, understand voting procedures, and resolve any issues they encounter.

Participants describe their vision in plain text — "carbon fibre with blue hexagonal accents." OpenAI translates it into a texture pattern, which Three.js renders live onto the 3D car model in under 3 seconds. No design skills needed.
Submitted skins are shared on social media and surfaced inside the platform. A panel of registered judges and community voters cast their votes in real time. The leaderboard updates live, driving repeat visits and brand engagement.
The top-voted skin is sent to production. The brand manufactures the physical wrap and applies it to an actual vehicle — turning a digital prompt into a car on the road. The creator is credited in the brand's North American anniversary campaign.
